ThreadClaw Creations — Terms of Service
Thank you for your interest in commissioning ThreadClaw Creations. These Terms of Service exist to keep the commission process clear, fair, and stress-free for both of us. By requesting, commissioning, or purchasing from ThreadClaw Creations, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Eligibility
Clients must be 18 years or older to commission directly.
Clients under 18 may commission through a parent or legal guardian, who must:
Handle all payments, and
Serve as the main point of contact throughout the commission.
Proof of age may be requested where necessary. To help ensure the piece remains a lasting investment, commissions for minors are made to adult sizing specifications unless otherwise negotiated in advance.
2. Price Estimator, Personalised Quotes & Enquiries
Use of the price estimator is non-binding and is provided for informational purposes only.
Requesting a quote/using the price estimator does not guarantee a commission slot.
Prices may change over time; only confirmed, deposited commissions lock in pricing.
If your requirements change after a quote, just let me know — I'm happy to talk through adjustments.
3. Payments & Deposits
All payments are processed via PayPal invoice.
Prices are listed in USD unless otherwise stated.
A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a commission slot. This covers materials and early production work.
The remaining balance is payable via invoice, with instalment plans available by arrangement.
Completed pieces ship once the balance is paid in full.
Chargebacks or payment disputes filed without first contacting me to resolve an issue may result in the commission being cancelled and work withheld.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
Deposits are non-refundable, as they fund materials and secured production time.
Cancellations before work begins may be refunded for any payments beyond the deposit.
Cancellations after work has begun (defined as materials cut, pattern drafted, or construction started) are generally non-refundable, as time and materials have already been committed.
Cancelled commissions may be modified and resold as premades at my discretion.
Approved refunds are processed as promptly as reasonably possible.
5. Timelines & Progress
Timelines are estimates, not guaranteed deadlines.
ThreadClaw Creations is a one-person operation, so occasional delays may occur due to health, supply availability, or other circumstances beyond my control.
Rush commissions are not currently offered, so that every piece receives the care it deserves.
Progress updates are provided while your commission is actively in production.
6. Communication
Communication takes place via email or another agreed platform.
Please respond within a reasonable timeframe so work can continue without interruption.
Commissions with no client response for 30 days may be paused.
Commissions with no response for 60 days may be cancelled without refund.
Respectful communication is expected at all times; harassment or abusive behaviour will result in immediate cancellation.
7. Style & Creative Process
Commissioning ThreadClaw Creations means commissioning my personal artistic style and construction methods.
I do not replicate another maker's distinctive style or techniques.
Minor adjustments during the build process are a normal part of the workflow, however you will be consulted every step of the way.
Substantial design changes requested after work has begun may incur additional costs and affect the timeline.
8. Reference Materials
Clear, safe for work (SFW) reference images are required to begin work.
I follow references as closely as possible, but accuracy cannot be guaranteed if references are unclear, incomplete, or contradictory.
Where small artistic decisions are needed to keep a piece cohesive and wearable, you'll be consulted at every step before I proceed.
9. Copyrighted Characters & Original Work
I do not create commissions based on copyrighted characters.
"Inspired by" designs must be clearly and substantially distinct from the source material.
I reserve the right to decline any commission for legal, ethical, or capacity reasons.
10. Ownership & Usage Rights
Once fully paid, the physical item is yours to keep, wear, alter, and resell as you wish.
ThreadClaw Creations retains the design and pattern rights to the pattern and construction techniques used, and may reuse, adapt, or reference similar elements in future work.
I retain the right to photograph and reference the piece for portfolio and pattern-development purposes even after sale, subject to Section 12 below.
This is a commission for a custom physical good, not a transfer of exclusive design rights, unless separately negotiated and invoiced.
11. Shipping
Shipping is invoiced once the piece is finished and packed.
The client is responsible for shipping costs, optional insurance, and any customs or import fees.
Once a package is handed to the carrier, delays or damage in transit are outside my control, though I'll always assist with claims or enquiries where possible.
12. Warranty & Repairs
A 60-day workmanship warranty applies from the shipping date, covering issues such as popped seams or missing elements caused by construction faults.
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damage from misuse, or shipping damage.
Repairs outside the warranty window are available at the cost of materials plus labour.
Items returned for repair must be clean and odour-free; items received otherwise may be returned unrepaired at the client's shipping cost.
13. Photos & Promotion
Work-in-progress and finished pieces may be photographed and shared on my portfolio and social media.
If you'd prefer your commission to remain private, please let me know before work begins.
14. Safety & Liability
Fursuits inherently limit vision, movement, hearing, and heat regulation.
By commissioning, you acknowledge and accept the risks involved in wearing a costume, and agree to suit responsibly - stay hydrated, take regular breaks, and use a handler where possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ThreadClaw Creations is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from the use, misuse, or wear of a commissioned item.
15. Privacy
Personal information is used only for communication, invoicing, and shipping purposes.
Details are never sold and are shared only where required for payment processing, shipping, or legal obligations.
16. Right to Decline or Cancel
I reserve the right to decline or cancel a commission where:
These Terms are breached,
Payments are not made as agreed,
Communication breaks down, or
A situation becomes unsafe, unethical, or otherwise inappropriate.
17. Circumstances Beyond Control
ThreadClaw Creations is not liable for delays or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, injury, natural disaster, supply chain disruption, or postal/carrier failures. Affected clients will be notified as soon as practicable.
18. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will first be addressed through direct, good-faith communication before any other action is pursued.
19. Agreement
Submitting a deposit or payment, or replying in agreement by email, constitutes acceptance of the current version of these Terms in full. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
20. Updates to These Terms
These Terms of Service may be updated periodically. The version in effect at the time of your payment is the version that applies to your commission.
Questions about any of these terms are always welcome before you commit to a commission — I'm glad to talk it through.
